this morning i got the following SMS (short message service) on my phone from jon:

"so did you metro in? let's just say that if so, i did your polluting for you... :)"
i hurriedly logged onto IM and it turns out jon just bought a car! congrats, jon! :) he's the proud owner of a new 2001 passat! coolness.

anyway, the metro ride into work wasn't too bad. i left my apartment at 7:35 am and got to the vienna metro station by 8:10 or 8:15. i hopped on a shuttle that left at 8:30 and arrived work by 8:45. it did cost me $2.85 one way though. ouch!

i just ordered a smarTrip card! "What is SmarTrip? It's a permanent, rechargeable farecard. It's plastic, like a credit card, and is embedded with a special computer chip that keeps track of the value of the card. Using SmarTrip is easy and fast! Instead of inserting a farecard through the faregate slot, you simply touch the SmarTrip card to the circular target panels on top of specially marked Metrorail station faregates." isn't that cool?

i went to the gym last night. granted, it's been a while, but when i told ken, he started laughing uncontrollably, and the only words he could squeeze out in between bouts of laughter were, "shut up!" hmph! what-EVER! i'm even planning to go again tomorrow. yay!
